ABOUT ME

Hello and welcome to my private practice

My name is Carolina Sammartino, and I provide a safe and supportive space where you can explore your problems. My work is relational, and it is based on the principle that having authentic, meaningful and mutual relationships with others is a crucial cornerstone of emotional mental health. I share your journey, using the client-therapist relationship to better understand your way of dealing with life. My psychotherapeutic approach is Transactional Analysis, an integrative modality where the practitioner chooses the best or most appropriate ideas and techniques from a range of theories and models, including behavioural techniques, psychoanalytic theories, person-centred and humanistic approaches.

It is only by understanding our way of behaving, feeling and thinking that we can also understand how we relate to others. Through therapy, you realise what is getting in your way and you are empowered to change in order to achieve a more fulfilling life and reach your full potential. I specialise in anxiety and depression, trauma and have a special interest in Group and Couple work.

I am a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and I am working towards full accreditation with the BACP. I am trilingual and offer therapy in English, Italian and Spanish. I currently offer therapy at a GP surgery in Lambeth, working with The Awareness Centre’s NHS counselling service in Clapham, and with the West London Counselling Centre in Hammersmith.

I am fully qualified and I hold a Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapeutic Counselling from the Metanoia Institute, an established school highly regarded for its commitment to thorough and rigorous training. I completed my Certificate in Humanistic Integrative Counselling in 2014 and  I am currently working towards an MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy at the Metanoia Institute (validated by Middlesex University)
